What is Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ is an exchange programme only for European Union students, which celebrates its 30th birthday this year. The programme allows students to study in counties within the European Union for specified periods. Nowadays, more than 4,000 higher education institutions in 33 different countries take part in this arrangement, giving their students practical experience in an international environment. Erasmus + is available only to students in higher education and who have already completed one year. This programme is valuable because it allows young professionals to have an exceptional experience in another European country, see a different educational system, make new friends, create a new vision of the world and become more mature. Moreover, its learning period is recognised by the university that they are attending.
Why come to Spain to do your Erasmus+?
Spain attracts a lot of students from the Erasmus + programme; in fact it is the top country in the rankings, hosting 42,537 in 2014-2015 (according to Times Higher Education).
Spain has many famous universities, but students do not come here just for the reputation of its schools. They are especially attracted by the Spanish lifestyle, and want to experience this way of life; the culture, language and nightlife – with Spain’s wonderful weather to boot. Indeed, Spain makes them want to experience the tapas, bodegas and hot evenings with friends. Moreover, it is a very attractive country for students from a cost point of view. Housing, food, outings, everything fits in a reasonable budget, even within the main cities. Spain is an Erasmus+ destination perfect for and welcoming a lot of students. It is up to you to discover it by yourself.
