Thrilling tennis at the Senior Masters Cup
The Senior Masters Cup at the Puente Romano Beach Resort and Spa on Marbella’s Golden Mile, is one of the highlights of many sporting events that take place each year on the Costa del Sol. Manifesto Design was delighted to be invited to the final, an exciting duel between tennis greats, legend John McEnroe and Spain’s own Carlos Moyá. After battling through two days of qualifiers against fellow Senior Masters Pat Cash, Mats Wilander and Yannick Noah, to name a few, this was sure to be a display of virtuoso tennis.
Seniors still playing at the top of their game
We thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition match before the final got underway, with the seniors demonstrating the skill that kept them at the top of their game in their younger years is still very much in evidence.
The event was all the more poignant as John McEnroe had recently announced that this was to be his last competitive match following his retirement from the competition circuit. At 58 years, we were delighted to see he is still playing wonderful tennis. However at seventeen years his junior, Moyá had the energy to sustain a win.
This is a fantastic tournament for tennis lovers and John McEnroe will be sorely missed next year. However we are sure that there are plenty of other seniors more than happy to take his place and we will be delighted to get the chance to see them play next year!
