SEO: no more secrets!
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for many of us is something complicated, difficult to understand and only experts know how it works, while some of us have never even heard of it before. But is SEO that complicated?
Firstly let’s find out what short term SEO means. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it is the process of driving more traffic to your website, making it more visible and ultimately the main goal is to get you more business. SEO is a relatively young phenomenon but in the past decade it has evolved rather quickly and became one of the most powerful and important tools in the marketing world.
At first, SEO was covered in mystery and secrecy, with only the experts knowing how to use it in the correct way, but nowadays the truth is that anyone can Google their way to becoming an SEO pro. Is it easy and simple? Not at all, SEO is a factor that keeps changing daily and if you aren´t constantly involved in this world it will be extremely hard for you to keep up with all the changes.
As a marketing company, we daily come face to face with clients who have decided to take on SEO themselves but in the end many come running to the experts for help. As we mentioned before, Google can teach you the technical stuff but you shouldn’t forget that SEO is a marketing tool rather than technical. Let’s take an example of keywords; they are a very important factor in SEO as they help to create a connection between what people are looking/searching for and the services or products you are providing. Sounds pretty easy, right? But it’s not as simple as it seems at first sight. Use of the wrong keywords can take your website in a completely wrong direction. At Manifesto Design we have a team of professionals that spend hours on keyword research to make sure that your business is linked to the right ones.
Also, the main goal of SEO is to move your website to the top of the rankings and ultimately get you more business. In order to do that your website needs to provide your clients with an easy user journey (also called user experience). This means that anyone visiting your website should be able to easily find what they are looking for and should, therefore, want to contact you or request information. For this, we apply onsite elements that improve your website and make it easier to explore. The same story happens here too, the wrong use of these elements can be ‘harmful’ for your website and rankings.
As a marketing agency, we like to be honest with our clients. SEO is a very complex world, but there is no magic, and as we said before, you could Google all the answers and maybe even make it work correctly. But this process is hard work and takes a lot of time, effort not to mention technical and marketing skills. This world is in constant change and our professionals work hard to stay up to date to make sure that your business is at the top of the rankings.
