To achieve a synthesis between aesthetics and functionality is the aim of all pure design, marketing and copy-writing. Giving added value to a product or service by means of our design, words or ideas is therefore the central element of our manifesto

Time to say goodbye to our intern Tirza

As I am writing this I’m currently on my last day of my internship at Manifesto Design. These past months have gone by way too fast…and what a journey has it been. I remember walking into the office on my first day back in February, feeling both anxious and excited to start. I had just left my home in The Netherlands to live on my own for the first time, and not just that, to live in a completely different country as well.

A place to learn
Luckily, the team at Manifesto Design welcomed me with open arms and everyone has been nothing but kind and helpful since day one. During my time here I learned a lot about working at a marketing agency and one of my main tasks at the company was to prepare social media accounts for clients, which I really enjoyed doing as it allowed me to be creative and innovative. Because there are so many different types of clients, the work I had to do was very diverse. Other than social media I also wrote blogs, did a bit of graphic design and worked on many other smaller tasks. There was always something to do and I enjoyed it all very much.

Besides the marketing aspect, I also learned a lot about myself – as clichéd as it might sound. Taking such a big step as moving abroad presented a lot of challenges and it hasn’t always been easy, but it has made me so much stronger. If I look back at the person who walked in here back in February, I see a different person who is going to walk out of here today. And I am so happy I took this opportunity to challenge myself and be able to grow and mature from it.

What next?
Once I’m back in the Netherlands I will graduate from college. That means it is time to close another chapter in my life and focus on what I want to do in the future. Thanks to Manifesto Design, I have now discovered what I would like to do in terms of work. I can definitely picture myself continuing to work for a marketing agency, so my plan is to look for a (part time) job in this industry, but I’m also open to continuing to study something related, once the next school year starts.

I would like to thank everyone at Manifesto Design so much for all the knowledge and support they gave me over the past months. It was great to work with you all.

And, if you are reading this and doubting whether to do an internship abroad, I highly recommend you just do it!
